8 days | YIN YOGA & HIKING IN SOUTH CRETE A retreat trip in the heart of nature to connect with ourselves and the environment

We invite you to a place where the roads end, at a unique small village in the area Sfakia. Join us in a transformative journey unravelling your yin side. Whether man or woman, the compassionate, loving and full of acceptance side of you, is waiting to let all things fall into place. An effortless journey back to the self. Here you will discover a safe place to let go of the idea of who you should be and accept who you truly are.

You will have plenty of time to relax, practice, explore, swim in deep blue waters, take long walks, read, disconnect from technology, but above all, follow your heart and do whatever makes you happy and free.

Return to your flow, relax and enjoy, everything is as it is.

During our retreat week we will immerse ourselves in the compassionate practice of Yin Yoga through deep relaxation techniques, energizing practices, Chi Kung, breathwork, free flow body expression, Mantra Yoga and Kirtan. We will be hiking in forests and caves, swimming in the beautiful waters of the Libyan Sea, enjoying flavours and smells, relaxing and creating space for new experiences.

In a pure and authentic natural environment, we will be empowered to consciously leave behind what no longer serves us, and experience the beauty and greatness of Mother Earth, returning to our “sacred” self.

Starting the journey at a mountainous village, in the outskirts of the National Natural Park of Samaria

The small village that will host our experience is located at the western side of the region of Sfakia, at the end of the route, almost hidden in the south slopes of the forested White Mountains. It's surrounding area is a wonderful hiking destination, while it is ideal for a range of alternative activities like speleology and caving, mountaineering ski and bungee jumping.

Our Guest House

Our guest house has 7 independent (twin bed and three bed) rooms. The simple, yet wonderful decoration consists of handcrafted furniture made with wood taken from the nearby forest, perfectly in harmony with the natural landscape. The rooms speak to those guests who wish to enjoy the beauty of simplicity and allow themselves to become in tune with the mountains and wild nature.

Food made with love

The hosts will care for our comfortable stay and will provide us traditional Cretan food with local products from the area. Their unique home cooked breakfast filled with local delicacies in addition to fresh vegetables and fruits are the centre point of this healthy and nourishing cuisine.

Hiking Routes

The selected hiking routes are suitable for everyone. We will follow paths enjoying the virgin forest of the area, the Aradena Gorge, the peaks of the White Mountains and the endless blue of the Libyan Sea. The truck of the guest house will be at our disposal to offer us a ride when needed!

Practising in the heart of nature

Through traditional and modern yoga practices, experiential exercises, relaxing techniques for physical and mental tension, healing sounds and vibrations, free and spontaneous movement of the body, mindfulness and deep relaxation techniques, we reconnect with nature in and around us.

Meet your teacher

Her spiritual journey began through theatre, where she was given the opportunity to experiment with the methods and methodologies by which the mind, body and breath integrate and blend, in the Department of Theatre Studies of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. After completing her postgraduate studies in Aesthetic Philosophy (MPhil), her introduction to yoga came to her naturally as an inner need.

She was trained in India in the system of Satyananda Yoga and in Ayurvedic Massage Therapy. Her desire for an honest interaction with the body, taking into account the needs of each human being, led her to Italy and straight into the intuitive teaching of Diane Long, direct disciple of Vanda Scaravelli. Following from this, she met her Yin teacher Biff Mithoefer and completed all three trainings in Yin Yoga (Yin Yoga Teacher Training, I. Taoism, Anatomy and Sequencing, II. Embracing the Yin Path and III. Storytelling); Since then she follows her own Yin Yoga path and create her own style of teaching and training.

Through her personal apprenticeship with her beloved teachers Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten, she keeps exploring the free expression of the body, always respecting each student's nature and choices, allowing space for curiosity, play and creativity.

In 2009 she met my root teacher Dr. Carlos de León and since then she has been studying and practising, exploring different spiritual traditions such as Shamanism, Chi kung, Vajrayanna, Hindu Tantra, Dzogchen, Kabbalah, and body psychotherapy. Among her spiritual masters are: HH 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, Namkai Norbu Rinpoche, Khandro Rinpoche, Swami Shankarananda, Swami Chandrashekhar Nanda Nath.

Boat, blue, bliss!

A free day excursion with a private boat, to one of the most beautiful places in Greece, the island of Gavdos. Gavdos is a very unique place protected by NATURA 2000 for its sand dunes and cedar trees (upon availability and weather conditions).

The island is surrounded by sea and the only way to get there is by boat. If weather conditions do not allow it, there can be a change of plans, following a different route to the beautiful beaches of South Crete.
